Join us for a webinar on the Clinical Implications of Mandated Reporting on Friday, 9/16, 8:30-10am on Zoom. This webinar meets the new Illinois state training requirement for mandated Reporters.  You will receive 1.5 CEs for attending.  A recording of the webinar will also be available.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Michelle Cutler has over 20 years of experience working with children and families, with a specialty in working in the field of abuse and trauma. She currently works in private practice and serves as Associate Professor at the Chicago School, where she has developed and taught the course Child Trauma course. Dr. Cutler helped develop the mental health program at the Chicago Children’ Advocacy Center (CCAC) and has continued to provide therapy to children and families who have experienced sexual abuse. Throughout her career, Dr. Cutler has worked collaboratively with DCFS investigators and caseworkers, and provided training to multiple audiences on the topic of mandated reporting in a clinical setting.

Course Objectives:

After attending this introductory-level workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Identify situations in which mandated reporting is required, and the practical steps necessary to make a report.

2. Navigate the complexities of making a mandated report in the context of a therapeutic relationship, while considering cultural differences.
