What do you like about being a therapist?
Being a therapist means being able to help and guide people with their mental health goals and progress. The best thing about being a therapist is having the privilege to see and help facilitate changes in a person and being able to see their growth over time. It is such a rewarding experience being able to witness and be part of someone’s journey whether that be self-exploration, healing, or simply having a safe space to talk to someone.
What do you like to do when you are not working? What do you do for fun?
When I am not working, I love to read, watch movies, and hang out with friends and family. My favorite genre to read is fantasy as it allows me to escape from reality for a little bit. I love spending time with friends and family while enjoying different activities and exploring different areas of Chicago. A few of my favorite activities would be exploring the many museums here, walking along the lake front, and visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo. Since moving to Chicago, a hobby of mine has been to go out to different restaurants to try new foods, especially dessert and coffee spots. Finding a new favorite coffee shop is always the best.
What do you do for self-care?
I believe that self-care is very important for everyone. Self-care for me looks like taking the time to sip on a coffee and enjoying the different flavors. I also enjoy going on walks in the city and on nature paths as it always relaxes me and takes my mind of things. Reading is also a favorite way for me to decompress after a long day. My top favorite series would have to be Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass. It is a series I will never forget. A few other notable favorites of mine include the One Dark Window duology by Rachel Gillig, the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo, and an Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir.
