Tracy Bischoff, Psy.D.
Who am I as a therapist? I believe therapy is a gift you give yourself to find joy and fulfillment in your life again. Therapy can provide a space to better understand your relationships and equip you with tools to improve important relationships in your life. I am passionate about the work I do and feel that being a therapist allows me to work with and help clients find ways to improve their lives.
Who do I work with? My ideal client is motivated to reflect on their life, improve their understanding of their difficulties, and work with me to identify ways to make important life changes. I enjoy working with children, adults, and families who want to improve the quality of their lives and relationships. I specialize in working with children, families, and young adults on issues related to life transitions, relationships, family stress, self-esteem, life satisfaction, and loss. I have expertise, especially, working with young children and their families.
My areas of interest. I help clients with issues related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, and relationships. Additionally, I have interest in and expertise working with children and adults who have experienced trauma, and enjoy accompanying them on their healing journey.
How I practice. I work with clients to help them understand their stressors, increase their self-awareness, enhance their coping skills, and recognize their own strengths. I am a compassionate and thoughtful therapist who values my relationship with my clients, which I believe is foundational to the work I do. I utilize a relational and strength-based approach and actively work with clients to help them solve their problems. It is important for my clients and I to work together to understand their difficulties in the context of their personal lives, family, work, and culture.
My background. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2013 and provide individual and family therapy.
Anything else? I also have an interest in yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, and integrative care, and incorporate aspects of these practices into our work, if there is an interest.
